The Church School

The Saint Bernard’s Church School is in session during the school year, September to June. Registration for the new year begins in August.

To register a child in the Church School and to get your name on the mailing list, please call the parish office at (908) 766-0602.

CHURCH SCHOOL SCHEDULE

Meeting each Sunday, with the exception of the third Sunday each month and on holiday weekends (as announced), our Church School offers nursery/toddler care for newborns through 3 years old, as well as, Christian Education for pre-k through 6th grade. Teen's are encouraged to volunteer in the nursery or as teacher helpers.

Classes meet during the 10 a.m. service of Holy Eucharist in the rooms of the Parish House. Rooms are marked with signage by grades. Children join the congregation for Holy Communion at about 10:45 a.m. and are welcome to receive the sacrament with their families.

TEACHERS

St. Bernard's is a co-op Sunday school and parents serve as teachers; however, anyone with an interest in the Christian formation of our young people is invited to serve as a church school teacher.  The curriculum we currently use is from the Episcopal Church website.

CONFIRMATION

Those seeking to be confirmed at St. Bernard's church must be active members in good standing. Please call the Rector, Rev. Bill Feus at (908)766-0602 ext 3 or email at stbernardsrector@yahoo.com for more information.

FIRST COMMUNION CLASS

Once a year the Church School offers a First Communion Class for children in grades 1-3. This class meets 3-4 times, usually in the spring. This class is open to members of St. Bernard's church. It teaches children about the significance of Holy Communion and prepares them to receive the sacrament with a sense of appreciation and respect.

The class is taught by the Father Bill.
