BRIGHTEN YOUR FUTURE

Homework help and academic support at St Bernard’s Church, Parish Hall

Area students in grades K-8 may come for help with homework and general academic support every Wednesday from 3pm until 5:00 pm when the Somerset Hills School District is in session.  This drop-in program is a FREE Somerset County YMCA program that is hosted and run by St Bernard’s Church in the Parish House.   Volunteer adult tutors assisted by volunteer high school tutors provide this academic support.  All tutors complete the YMCA volunteer registration process.  For the young elementary children who do not have homework the emphasis is on the development of reading and math skills through the use of grade-appropriate workbooks and other learning materials.  Snacks are provided.

Would you like to volunteer for this program?

If you enjoy helping young children and can spare a few hours to help elementary and middle school children with their homework or learning to read, the program organizers enthusiastically welcome new adult and high school student volunteer tutors.  Please contact Beth Bolan at the Somerset County YMCA (908 766 7898 ext  403) or Alison Davidson at St Bernard’s Church (908 766 0153).
