The Community Fund
The Community Fund
Since its beginning in September 2000, the Community Fund has provided emergency financial assistance to residents of the greater Somerset Hills area. The grants are given on a one-time basis for a specific need. The Community Fund receives grant requests from credible sponsors such as clergy, schools, social workers, and police on behalf of an individual or family. The Fund expects its grants to be a component of a larger partnership of assistance. All of the grant applications are confidential.
Over the years the Community Fund has had the opportunity to help many neighbors in our community. For example it has granted funds for rents, gift cards for a family whose home was destroyed by a fire, food supplements for a child whose family was already burdened by large medical bills and a down payment for an apartment for a single mother trying to better the living circumstances for their family,
As the Community Fund continues its work in the community, we look forward to receiving more grant applications and donations. If you know of situations where the Community Fund could help or if you have questions, please contact one of the following: Fund Administrator, Sue Smith, at 908-953-0301, Treasurer, Mindy Kirby at 908-766-0084 or Rev Beth Sciaino at 908-766-0602.
