Tyler Weakland, Interim Music Director

 

Praised for his ‘verve and adroit collaborative piano playing’ by the Charleston City Paper,
Tyler Weakland is a teacher, pianist, organist, conductor, composer, arranger/orchestrator,
producer, and vocal coach. He is the Choral Director and Performing Arts Department
Chair at Ranney School and former Associate Conductor of the GRAMMY award winning
Westminster Symphonic Choir, preparing singers in major choral works and opera choruses
for performances with professional orchestras. As a vocal coach he has worked with students
at Mannes, TCNJ, and Westminster Choir College coaching art song, opera, and musical
theatre. Mr. Weakland is the Music Director of the Princeton Boychoir at Westrick Music
Academy and conductor of the Young Men’s Ensemble. He has appeared as continuo organist
with the Orchestra of Luke’s NYC in a performance of El Mesìas: Handel’s Messiah for a New
World. Mr. Weakland was head of production for the 30th Anniversary Celebration of
Westminster Choir College’s An Evening of Readings & Carols that was recorded live and
broadcast on PBS, in which he also conducted. He has also contracted, arranged, and
conducted a handbell ensemble for a Hulu series pilot in NYC’s Gotham Hall. As a
composer his portfolio includes art songs, choral works, hymn arrangements, brass
arrangements, and handbell music. He currently serves as Interim Director of Music and
Organist at St. Bernard’s Episcopal Church in Bernardsville, New Jersey. He received his
Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Sacred Music with concentrations in piano, voice,
and organ from Westminster Choir College.

Alison Davidson, Parish Administrator

 

Alison, originally from the UK, came to the States with her husband and three young children to live in New York City in August, 2001,  moving to rural Bernardsville in October 2010.

 

Alison has over 35 years of experience in administration and teaching.  In the UK she worked as a Training Administrator in a corporate company, then as a Training Center Manager at RAF Henlow.  In New York she worked as an Early Childhood Teacher and School Administrator for a small private school on the Upper West Side of Manhattan where her children also went.  She volunteered there too and was an active community member chairing the school’s Annual Multicultural Festival and Parent Connection Committees.

 

Along with raising her family she is an avid dog lover, and very keen hiker, organizing and leading a weekly hiking group.  She is also an active member of the Somerset Hills Chorus and resided on the Board of Music in the Somerset Hills. As an ex-pat she is a member of the International Friends Club (IFC) and has been on the Board for many years in numerous roles, including the President, Publicity Coordinator and Webmaster, and Newsletter Editor.
